Summer giggles are the best! Second best are the stories. I have the pleasure of having almost half of the grandkids this weekend - and for the WHOLE weekend this time!! Today started with the 100 degree weather, two backyard inflatable pools, two beachballs and a sprinkler. End result - tons of giggles, four very wet but cool little boys and a VERY happy g-ma.
Stories were next. I have one particular grandson who loves to tell "true" stories - stories about his trip to DisneyWorld where he walked in the parade with Mickey and Minnie, stories about how his best friend was killed by a giant shark while they were at the ocean, stories about how he saw a women go to heaven in a firetruck with the fireman who took her there, and finally my favorite - the story about how his dad always tells him that he shouldn't eat blueberries in his pancakes - they are very bad for you. :)
Right now I am listening to them tumble and roll around in the bedroom - pretty much sounds like a gymnastic meet, But they are happy and so am I.
These are four of the nicest kids - polite and they really care about each other. They don't fight, they don't argue, they just plain have fun. Just the way the Boys Club should be. Someday, this Boys Club will not be four little boys - hopefully it will be nine boys all coming to G-Ma Jo-Jo's for unbridled F-U-N.
PS My rule is that I will take all that are potty trained. A month ago, Gretchen sent Denver and asked, "can you train him" ? When he left a day later, he was potty trained and apparently still is - without accident. A week ago, Roxanne sent Opie with the same request. I sent him home a day later with the same results. Maybe this could be my retirement plan.
I love your blog! I didn't know you had 8 grandsons!!! Waow!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rachel. I actually have NINE grandsons. Good thing I had your family next door to me en Suisse - otherwise I would have never had the experience of girls at this age!!
